- Featured Class - Ms Rigney's Year 4/5 Class
We had some big events last week, with school photos and the World's Greatest Shave. These are the kind of moments where memories are made, which last a long time.
One of our Year 7 leaders, Abbie with some encouragement (some might say, a friendly challenge?) from her teacher Ms. Power; shaved her head for the Leukaemia Foundation as part of the World's Greatest Shave. Ms Power made a deal with Abbie last year, and agreed to have her hair cut to just above her shoulders. This was a very brave and selfless act by both Abbie and Ms Power.
Abbie's initial goal was to raise $1000 and at this point in time, her current fundraising balance stands at $1,1170. The wonderful part of this endeavour, is that while the money will go towards research and support, Abbie and Ms Power's hair will be used to create wigs, for people who have lost their hair due to blood cancers and their treatments.
The link to sponsor Abbie and Ms. Power is open until June this year, so if you would like to make a donation, please follow the link below to support the Leukaemia Foundation.

We are planning to use this space to show the human side of our staff. Each newsletter we will provide a peep into a Pimpala staff member, through an interview condected by our student leader Events Assistants. The answers each staff members provides will be published, so you, our school community, can get to know them better.
Keep your eyes out for this fun and interesting read in our next newsletter.
During the last week of this term the soccer pitches will be remediated in preparation for the soccer season which commences early next term. This will involve significant work and all three pitches will not be available on Monday, 8th and Tuesday, 9th April. The senior pitch will not be available for use for three weeks, 8th - 28th April which inlcudes the 2 weeks of the school holidays.
We appreciate your co-operation in not using the large soccer pitch during this time.
Hot Reads is a new section of the newsletter where one of our staff members recommends a book to read. The book is on display in the Library. This week the recommendation comes from Mr Collier.
Mr Collier, our Indonesian teacher has recommended Grandpa's Great Escape by David Walliams as his HOT READ. We hope you enjoy it!
The story goes....
One day Grandpa begins to forget things. It was little thngs at first. He made a cup of tea and forgot to drink it. But soon it was bigger things. Soon he couldn't recognise his own son.
Grandpa had always told his little grandson, Jack stories about being in the Royal Air Force during World War 2. The most surprising thing was now instead of telling the stories, he began living them out.
Everyone in his life found this hard to understand.
Except one person, his grandson Jack. Jack realised all you had to do was play too....
A reminder that this week's Governing Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, 19th March as a one off to accommodate a briefing from the External School Review team.
Pimpala will be hosting Principal Tours on the following dates for anyone interested in enrolling at our school. They will be held at 10:00am on the following dates, one tour per term. Priority of Entry for students living in our school zone will be discussed as part of the tour.
