Welcome back!
I hope you have all had a restful break and were able to enjoy some of the sunshine. We have had a very successful start to the term with students returning with enthusiasm and are ready to learn.
Term 4 is a very exciting term with a lot of different events to celebrate.
We have swimming for our Rec-Year 4 students, water safety and aquatics for our Year 5-7 students, our End of Year Celebration in Week 8 and Graduation for our Year 6/7 students in Week 9 to name a few.
It is a busy term where students are given the opportunity to consolidate their learning and build new skills to prepare them for next year.
I am very excited to continue as the Principal for the next five years.
I am enthusiastic about the changes to our school with the new OSHC building beginning soon and the new Capital Works project that will be completed over the next few years. When information about this new project is available I will share it with our students and the community.
My vision for our school is a place where students are supported and challenged to achieve at their potential. We will continue to challenge and celebrate students to ensure they strive for excellence.
I look forward to putting programs in place and providing opportunities for students to be able to shine, setting them up for success in the future.
The Pimpala community is fantastic and I know that together we will support our students to be flourishing young adults.
Pimpala is a very special place and I am very honoured to have the opportunity to lead our school.
We have commenced preliminary planning for classes for next year and have started to allocate students. We ask that if you will not be returning to Pimpala in 2022 that you advise the class teacher or the Administration Office staff as soon as possible.
We appreciate that some students may be on a waiting list for another school or there may be a job in the pipeline that would mean a move to a new suburb or interstate, however, we would appreciate this information so we can work on Plan A, Plan B etc. We are looking at class configurations and need accurate numbers for each year level to plan for the best possible scenarios.
Principal Tours have been scheduled for the following dates and time.
- Monday, 25 October at 9:30am
- Monday, 25 October at 4:30pm
- Monday, 1 November at 9:30am
- Monday, 1 November at 4:30pm
Please make sure you register for the tour by phoning 8326 0900. If these times don't suit you please call the Administration Office to make an alternate time.
Please note: Principal Tours are subject to COVID-19 regulations and may be changed/cancelled if required. It this is the case, alternate arrangements will be made as soon as possible.
The canteen will be closed during the last week of Term 4, 6-10 December, 2021. We regret any inconvenience.
Each fortnight teachers identify students who have demonstrated the school values of Responsibility, Respect and Resilience to a high standard and nominate them to receive an award - usually at the Assembly. Awards are only awarded when the values are observed and deserved so some weeks there may be more and some weeks less awards.
Congratulations to the students who received an award at the assembly held on Thursday, 14 October, 2021. Great work!
During Term 4 the assembly will be held on a Thursday afternoon at 2:20pm.
If you would like to come along we allocate up to 30 seats for members of our community. We encourage parents/carers of students performing at assembly that week to book a ticket through the SZapp - calendar.
This change of day and time is to accommodate Bike Ed which will be held on Fridays from 29 October. Bikes will be parked in the hall each Friday. Thank you for your understanding.
We are pleased to advise that we raised $422 for Ronald McDonald House from our Sports colours Casual Day on Friday, 24 September, 2021. Thank you to eveyone who participated in the fun on the day, and donated to a great cause.
This term our school will be participating in the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s Way2Go Bike Ed program. It is a practical program for our students in year 4 delivered by qualified instructors.
Please return the consent form as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Your child will receive a Way2Go Bike Ed student learning journal and a bike check card that will record the roadworthiness check of her/his bike from the first session.
Through participating in Way2Go Bike Ed students:
- build their knowledge and understanding of the road laws and traffic environments
- develop bike handling and maintenance skills
- develop decision making skills for off and on-road bike riding.
Each student will participate in 6 Friday sessions on 29/10, 5/11, 12/11, 19/11, 26/11, 3/12.
Students who own or can access a bicycle are requested to bring it to school for each session.
Please bring your bike to the hall where it will be safely stored. Bicycle SA has 15 bicycles that are prioritised for students who do not own or cannot access a bicycle.
We will need volunteers for these sessions to support our students. Please contact the Administration Office if you are able to support, all volunteers will need a Working with Children Check and to have completed the RHHAN-EC training.

Location: Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre
During Week 7 of students in Reception - Years 4 will be attending swimming lessons at the Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Reception to Year 2 students are entitled to 3.45 hours per year of free swimming instruction, equating to 5 x 45 minute lessons.
Year 3- Year 4 students are entitled to 7.5 hours per year of free swimming instruction, equating to 5 x 90 minute lessons.
Please note that the swimming instruction provided by the Education Department Swimming and Aquatics program is free. The fees cover the cost of transport of students to and from the Noarlunga Aquatic and Recreation Centre and the pool entry fees.
Swimming fees must be paid in full prior to the program commencing. The total cost of the program for 2021 is $40.00 per student and is payable by Monday, 15 November.
