It has been an exciting and challenging year at Pimpala Primary School and for our community.
Through all of the changes and challenges our students and our community have remained focused, supportive and engaged.
I would personally like to thank you all for your ongoing support to our students and our school.
Our students have shown resilience in accepting the changes with lock down and online learning, they are continuing to show their responsibility with their commitment to their learning and respect in their interactions with each other and staff. It has been amazing to see our students grow and challenge themselves throughout the year.
We have a few big weeks left this term with our End of Year Celebration this Wednesday Night at 5:00pm and Graduation next Thursday Night at Wirreanda Secondary School. This will be our last Year 7 Graduation as all Year 7 students will be at Secondary School from 2022.
Our staffing for 2022 is awaiting verification from the Department for Education and is not yet finalised.
Our 2022 classes are almost complete and students will visit their 2022 classes next Thursday. Information will be sent home with students that afternoon.
There will be a brief, one page bulletin sent out next week to confirm staffing for 2022 and share any other details necessary for families before the year concludes.
We acknowledge that this time of the year can be very difficult for many people for a variety of reasons. Please reach out and connect with staff at school if you need support or advice.
I wish you all a safe and happy holiday break and hope that you get to spend some relaxing family time together.
I look forward to the beginning of 2022 and cannot wait to continue our journey as a community.
Kind Regards
Belinda Finlay-Smith
Principal

Aussie of the Month recognises personal endeavour, achievement and contribution to the community and reflects some of the values we share as Australians, such as fair go, mateship, respect and inclusion.
It is a primary school recognition program, that's been running for more than 20 years and is delivered by the same network that presents the Australian of the Year Awards.
Aussie of the Month reflects school values and encourages:
- an appreciation of the diversity and depth of personal contribution
- achievement possible within your school
- concern and consideration for all members of the school community
Each month, staff nominate students as candidates Aussie of the Month and then a student is elected to receive this special award to celebrate their commitment to the values we embrace at our school. The student to receive this award for the month of November is Isabelle C from Ms Stanley's Year 4/5 class.
Isabelle received our Aussie of the Month award for: showing determination and resilience when she broke her shoulder. Isabelle learnt to write with her left hand and never gave up on a task. She used her sense of humour to get through challenging times.

In recent past years, Pimpala has co-ordinated donations of canned and non-perishable food, decorations and presents for distribution to families in need. These items are used to make hampers for the less fortunate in our community. We are very grateful to be able to organise this.
If you are aware of anyone in our community who is doing it tough and who would benefit from a hamper, can you please let leadership or administration staff know
Let’s make it a great time for everyone this Christmas by bringing something to help struggling families. Please bring items including canned food, packet food, decorations or unwrapped new presents and toys to the Administration Office.
Reports and Class Placement Notes
Student summary reports for 2021 are currently being processed. These will be sent home with the students on Wednesday, 8 December, the last week of the school year.

Class structures and placements are being finalised and we plan to inform you of your child’s class placement when notes are sent home on Thursday, 9 December.
A range of factors are taken into consideration as part of the class placement process including academic and social needs, friendships, working relationships and teacher input. We are confident that after careful consideration we have made the best class placement for your child for 2022.
As always please keep in mind that unforeseen circumstances between now and the commencement of next year may result in some changes. If you have any concerns, please contact us.
If your child is not at school on the days the notes go home, the notes will be available for collection from the Administration Office. Any uncollected reports or class placement notes will be posted at the end of school on Friday, 10 December, the last day of Term 4.
Each fortnight teachers identify students who have demonstrated the school values of Responsibility, Respect and Resilience to a high standard and nominate them to receive an award - usually at the Assembly. Awards are only awarded when the values are observed and deserved so some weeks there may be more and some weeks less awards.
Congratulations to the students who received an award at the assembly held on Thursday, 25 November, 2021. Great work!
