From the Principal
We have had a very exciting few weeks at Pimpala.
Friday of Week 6 we celebrated Science Week with a full day of Science experiments. The students had so much fun and they all participated with enthusiasm. I would like to thank the staff for supporting the day and a big thank you to Mr Smith for planning and organising the whole event. As always it was a huge success!
Last week we celebrated Book Week, it was a fantastic week with so many sensational activities. On Friday we had our Book Week Assembly where students and staff had the opportunity to dress up as their favourite book character. The costumes and the effort that was put into them was phenomenal. Thank you to all of the families for support students to dress up - I know how much time and effort goes into creating the marvellous costumes. I would also like to acknowledge the tremendous effort that Karen put into organising all of the book week events and the staff that supported her to do this.
We have students participating in SAPSASA Soccer and Netball in the next two weeks, if we are successful then we will move to the next round of the finals! Fingers crossed we are lucky enough to win the Grand Final!
We had Transition Leaders from Wirreanda Secondary School who organised sessions for our Graduating Students. These Turbocharged sessions were to design thinking and construct a legacy project. The students found these sessions very entertaining and interesting. We appreciate the staff from Wirreanda Secondary School organising these sessions for our students.
I was pleased to acknowledge the service and the retirement of Hazel Dobson, who began teaching at Pimpala in 2012. Hazel brought years of experience to our Junior Primary Team and was willing to share her ideas with the school. Hazel always brought a smile to the faces of students, families and staff.
I would like to remind families that they are welcome to attend our Governing Council Meeting on Wednesday, 8 September at 7 pm in the Library. You do not need to be a Governing Council Member to attend.
Kind Regards
