Please find attached the Pimpala Primary School Grievance Procedures.  This advises the appropriate way to handle a grievance at school, whether it involves a student, parent or staff member.

We strongly encourage anyone with a grievance to familiarise yourself with the recommended procedure and start the process at the local level so it can be resolved quickly and efficiently.

Some people believe that if you have a grievance and lodge it with agencies external to the school (for example, the Minister for Education), that you will get a better answer than if you speak with the school in the first instance but this is not the case. 

The answer will be the same no matter where you start the process. If you approach an agency outside of the school, it will take longer for a resolution as the school must liaise and compile details and reports. While this is occurring, other school-based tasks are delayed.  

Misunderstandings do occur so approach the school at the local level is the first step in resolving issues. Please speak to the teacher involved the first instance and if the teacher is unable to help you,  make an appointment to speak with a member of the Leadership Team.
