From the Principal
We have had some very exciting whole school events in the past few weeks - Science Day in Week 4 and Book Week last week. A big thank you to Mr. Smith, Mrs. Hampton and Mrs. Karen Campbell for their huge efforts in making these days happen. A special thank you to our Student Leaders - Events Assistants and Library Leaders for their work in leading and supporting our students as they participated in each event. A great deal of work goes in behind the scenes to make these events so successful!
Congratulations to Ms. MacLean, Mrs. Lewis, Mr. Branson and Miss Pullman who have completed a course of study titled Mathematical Mindsets by Jo Boaler. This has been a huge endeavour on their behalf and taken over 60 hours of their own time to complete. We are very proud of our staff and their focus in pursuing excellence as life long learners!
Congratulations to Mrs. Rigney who has taken on an extra role in the school as our Pedagogical Coach. She will be working with classes and teachers to support improvement in teaching and learning and in developing a whole school approach.
Mrs. Rigney will still be working with her class on Monday and Tuesday and Mrs. Lauren Stanley will now be working with the class from Wednesday to Friday. This increase for Mrs. Stanley means that we have a new teacher leading our classes in Performing Arts - Miss Tegan Files. Miss Files will be stepping in to teach Performing Arts from Tuesdays to Thursdays and will be with her 3/4 class on Fridays.
We are very fortunate to have a flexible team of staff who are able to communicate, take responsibility and demonstrate excellence, respect and friendship. Their wilingness to work in teams and take on new learning, and roles, means we provide not only great examples but learning opportunities for our students.
Regards
