At this time of year there are many illnesses around.  We ask that if your child is sick, please keep them home.  You know your child best and if you believe they may be ill, even if it is inconvenient, please be considerate. Infection can spread easily in a classroom environment and a number of teachers and other staff have been affected this year. 

If your child is constantly coughing, keeping them home is an easy way contain the illness.  Perhaps check with their doctor to see if they require any further medication or even a puffer.  Please remind your children to cover their mouths when they cough and to wash their hands regularly.

We ask that if your child vomits or has loose bowel motions, that you keep them home for 24 hours after the last episode, before sending them to school.  Even if the child says they feel ok or wants to come to school, it is a requirement so others do not catch anything if it is contagious.

Some children complain of illness so they don’t have to go to school.  We know that, and if there are issues other than illness affecting your child that the school can assist with, please let us know.
