It has been a challenging but very rewarding term, we have seen our students demonstrate resilience, responsibility and respect in their relationships and their learning.
We are so proud of our students this term. We cannot wait to support and watch them continue to grow and improve for the remainder of the year.
Our staff have also been overwhelmed by the support of our parents, caregivers and community. Thank you.
We have two exciting events this week with our Easter Raffle on Wednesday and our Colour Fun Run on Thursday.
We have currently raised $9195! We are so close to reaching our goal of $10000. I think we can do it so please keep fundraising. On Thursday we will be selecting staff victims to slime at the beginning of our Colour Fun Run. We currently have nine staff who will be slimed, if we get to $10000 we will be able slime another staff member! We can do it!
We will be having an outdoor assembly on Thursday to commemorate ANZAC Day, which is in the holidays. Our Student Executive’s will be hosting this assembly. We also have some students attending the ANZAC Day service at the Onkaparinga Memorial Gardens to represent our school.
We are planning for many events next term including SAPSASA events, the Premier’s Be Active Challenge and Sports Day. We are hoping to have parents and caregivers on site for our Sports Day, a decision will be made closer to the event depending on the COVID-19 situation at the time. We are planning another awesome term.
Coming into the holidays I would like to remind you all to rest, be safe, and enjoy some time together with your family. Have an excellent Easter this weekend and I look forward to seeing you all again next term.
Reminder: School will finish at 2:10 pm on Thursday, 14 April, 2022 being the end of Term 1.
School will resume again on Tuesday, 2 May. (Monday, 1 May is a Student Free Day).
Recently there has been a number of incidences of dangerous practice at the Kiss and Drop zone so we seek your co-operation in following safe practices at all times to keep all children safe.
Can you please make sure you pick up your child/ren from the kerb side of the car and at the kerb? There have been a number of pick-ups where the parent has driven into the centre of the road and stopped which required the children to cross the road in front of cars, dodging traffic.
The second part of this issue is that the students didn't have time to put their seatbelts on before the car took off. Please make sure the children are safely locked into their car seats before driving away.
Children under 12 have also been witnessed getting into the front seat of the vehicle with a parent, with no restraints.
Please find below the most recent information about child restraints.
Thank you for your support and co-operation in keeping the children safe.
If you have any questions or concerns please speak to one of the Leadership Team.
The two main soccer pitches are being made ready for matches which start on Saturday, 7 May. This week the pitches are being virti-drained, top dressed and fertilised. They will also be bunted off - (so we don't accidentally run onto them during the Colour Splatacular Fun Run on Thursday).
We will get the best results if they are NOT used for three weeks so PLEASE do not go onto the soccer pitches for the rest of this week and the two weeks of the school holidays. That will give the pitches the right conditions for the best even spread of grass. Thank you for your consideration and cooperation.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to our Easter Raffle with wonderful Easter goodies and also to our school community who has supported us by buying raffle tickets.
The draw will take place during the day on Wednesday, 13 April so please return all tickets and money as soon as possible, but especially before the raffle is drawn!
Good luck everyone! We will send prizes home with school based winners. Other winners will be notified by phone that afternoon.
It's getting exciting now! People from the office have been acting and dressing strangely in anticipation!
Don't forget to wear your casual clothes to school on Thursday too!
We have 3 more days left to fundraise, can we hit our target of $10,000?
Each fortnight teachers identify students who have demonstrated the school values of Responsibility, Respect and Resilience to a high standard and nominate them to receive an award - usually at the Assembly. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we have not had an assembly yet.

We are excited to be launching the innovative Children's University program at our school next term.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to become involved in a program which is renowned for its success in boosting academic achievement and increasing student ambition. Students are encouraged to explore and discover new ideas, concepts and experiences via Public and Restricted Learning Destinations and can choose topics they would enjoy.
Awards are based on effort, activity and time spent which allows access to everyone.
Christine MacLean will be the Children's University coordinator and will oversee the running and validation of Children’s University clubs or Restricted Learning Destinations in school.
Students who enrol in the program will be given a Passport to Learning which is where Children's Universtiy members collect their learning. Each activity is recorded along with the time spent, and validated with a stamp from the Learning Destination. As learning hours accrue, they build towards Children's University certificates awarded at graduations.
The cost to access the program is $16.50 (includes GST), per member per year. This includes a Passport to Learning, annual graduations as well as validating local Learning Destinations and access to the Children’s University website and Portal.
All students from Year 3 to 6 will attend an Information Session on Thursday, 26 May at 1:30pm. Junior Primary students can choose to attend too. If your child thinks they would be interested in undertaking the program then they can register and attend the session on Thursday, 9 June where they will be given their Passport to Learning. A parent information session will also be held after school on Thursday, 9th May at 3:30pm
Next term, Christine will be available to answer any questions you may have about Children's University from 27 May, 2022.
In Week 2 of Term 2 the Year 3 and 5 students will participate in the National Literacy and Numeracy tests.
We ask for your support in ensuring your children are at school and organised in a punctual manner each day.
The Year 2, 4, & 6 students who are in classes participating in the tests will be supervised in other areas during the testing times. Results will be sent home later in the year.
Which team will you be cheering for on Sports Day, Friday, 20 May? Anderson (Blue), Bain (Green), Morphett (Red) or O’Sullivan (Yellow)?
We have planned some great events for all classes to participate in with students required to be in class at 8.50am, and then assembling under the COLA at 8:55am ready for all the events to begin. This will be a huge day full of fun for everyone!
We are optimisitic that parents/caregivers may be able to attend, however, this decision will be made closer to the date given our high COVID numbers at this time.
As with all school events, Sports Day may be changed or cancelled subject to COVID restrictions and our school's individual COVID situation at the time.
