What an incredible pleasure I had last week, watching our Festival Choir as they warmed up for their external assessment. Their harmonies and their interpretation of the songs performed were beautiful - goose bump material!
The feedback from the assessment of our choir was incredibly positive.
"Wow -great job today everyone.
Your singing was clear and confident... your part work very solid.
Dynamics/expression - really good work.
Your presentation and 'interesting faces' were terrific and voice projection was great.
Keep up the awesome work!"
Congratulations to every member and to Mrs. Rigney and Jenny for all your hard work, support, persistence and team work.
The choir's result was an A- which maintains a great tradition for Pimpala Primary School, as we achieved our first A last year.
This assessment is a precursor to the Festival of Music in September and there are other opportunities for individual students to audition for orchestra, troupe and solo positions. This year also sees the addition of Taiko drumming as an accompaniment to the choir and there will be auditions for these positions in the coming weeks.
Congratulations also to the 31 students who represented our school last week at the SAPSASA Athletics Day. A special acknowledgement must go to Josh P, Bella Z, Heidi G and Zemes H who all achieved places in their respective events and now go on to the State Day for Onkaparinga North. Thank you to Deb Kemp, Ms. Dixon, Emmerson White, Mr. Sboro and all our parents for your support in making the day such a success.
Kind regards
Penny Wilde

Hello to the Pimpala Primary School community. My name is Skye Keller and I am your new Pastoral Care Worker (PCW). I am excited to be here and to get to know the students, families and staff, and to learning everyone's names.
I have previously worked in 3 other schools in this role which I enjoyed immensely. I have 4 children aged, 11, 18, 23 and 26, and one grandson who is 17 months. I have lived most of my life in the southern suburbs and as a child lived 2 streets from your lovely school.
I have a diploma in Children's Services and a Diploma in Counselling. I have a passionate interest in play therapy (Kimochi's, art), early intervention and practices and supporting families holistically. I will be at school on Thursdays and sometimes on Fridays. I look forward to being involved in any upcoming events this year inlcuding the Colour Fun Run.
Please come and say hello.
Permission forms have been sent home today with your child. A copy is also attached for your convenience. Can you complete this form for each of your children and return it to the school by Friday, 10th May.
Thank you.

Last Tuesday, 30th of April, 31 students attended Christies Beach High School to compete in the Onkaparinga North SAPSASA Athletics Day. These 31 students competed against 12 other schools in the area, in the events of 100m, 200m, 800m, High Jump, Long Jump, Shotput, Discus and 100m Relays. Our students showed great sportsmanship throughout the day, supporting our school but also the other schools athletes.
We had some fantastic results throughout the day. We will have 4 students representing Onkaparinga North at the State Day. Those students are Josh P (Discus), Bella Z (Discus), Heidi G (100m Relay), Zemes H (High Jump, 800m, 100m relay). Special mentions to Deb Kemp, Elira Dixon, Emmerson White for helping out on the day, and also the parents who helped set up and pack up our area. Well done students.

The Mother’s Day stall will be held on Thursday, 9th May. Each class will be given the opportunity to purchase items during the day, and then students and parents may purchase after school that afternoon and then before and after school on Friday, 10th May.
It’s not far away now! Mother’s Day is on Sunday, 12th May. If you would still like to contribute donations to sell on our stall, please bring them to the Front Office by Wednesday, 8th May. Thank you for all the wonderful Mother’s Day Stall donations we have already received. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
Governing Council - Election Day Sausage Sizzle & Cake Stall
We will be having a Sausage Sizzle and Cake Stall on Election Day, Saturday, 18th May, 2019. Come along and vote here, and buy a sausage and/or a cake or two to help raise money for our Nature Play area.
If you can help, we need volunteers to help cook the BBQ and serve the sausages and cakes. We would love your help!
We are also seeking donations of cakes to sell at the Cake Stall on Election Day. We would appreciate donations of cakes, cupcakes, brownies, slices or other goodies we can sell on the day. I'm sure there are many budding cooks who have learned cake making skills from the SAKG program. Please help us out!
We look forward to making this a highly successful fundraiser for our Nature Play area.

On the day students will be leaving by bus from school at 9.00am and will return to school at around 2.45pm. The cost for the excursion will be $13.00 per student, which covers the entry fee for the performance and the bus cost, which has been heavily subsidised, courtesy of the Dream BIG Festival organisers.

School Fundraiser - Entertainment Book
Don't forget Pimpala Primary School will be selling the Entertainment Book as a line of fundraising this year. The Entertainment book provides exceptional value to customers across Australia. We have decided to have the Entertainment Book as one of our fundraisers this year and take advantage of all that is has to offer while raising money for our school.
Orders for the book will be available through the following link:
There will be bonus offers with this years book as a celebration of it's 25th Anniversay. What a great way to raise funds, spending time with the family while saving money at the same time. Please contact the Finance Office for further information.
Please find attached the Pimpala Primary School Grievance Procedures. This advises the appropriate way to handle a grievance at school, whether it involves a student, parent or staff member.
We strongly encourage anyone with a grievance to familiarise yourself with the recommended procedure and start the process at the local level so it can be resolved quickly and efficiently.
Some people believe that if you have a grievance and lodge it with agencies external to the school (for example, the Minister for Education), that you will get a better answer than if you speak with the school in the first instance but this is not the case.
The answer will be the same no matter where you start the process. If you approach an agency outside of the school, it will take longer for a resolution as the school must liaise and compile details and reports. While this is occurring, other school-based tasks are delayed.
Misunderstandings do occur so approach the school at the local level is the first step in resolving issues. Please speak to the teacher involved the first instance and if the teacher is unable to help you, make an appointment to speak with a member of the Leadership Team.
